Monday, July 17, 2006 A line spoken by Charlotte Rampling's character in the movie 'Heading South,' quoted in an article in yesterday's N.Y. Times: "If you're over 40 and not as dumb as a fashion model, the only guys who are interested are natural born losers or husbands whose wives are cheating on them." For the record: this unmarried male finds intelligence in women attractive and considers physical age far less important than factors like quality of heart, mind and spirit. Chemistry -- physical and otherwise -- is one thing, but linear age doesn't necessarily mean poop. I tend to think stuff like that is a no-brainer. Then I read something or hear something in conversation that reminds me plenty of people might feel otherwise. Ah, well. To each their own. EspaƱa, te echo de menos. rws 4:11 PM [+]

Cool. I'll keep that in mind should I ever be unmarried. ;-)
Just wanted to delurk a minute and say that I enjoy your blog!
I'm thinking the header image, sans snow. It's a neat concept, the boots in different seasons. Really unique, and when that snow was replaced by flowers it really did feel like winter was officially over. Of course, it's looming again...
I agree that intelligence and personality are the two most important things when looking for someone but you can't deny thousands of years of evolution also. Being physically attracted to someone is important too.
Flatlander: who's denying? Chemistry -- physical and otherwise -- is a factor in attraction, sometimes a big one. But real, sustaining attraction encompasses so much more. (IMHO.)
Kara: smiles to you as well. Mouse: *blush*
Well, someone posing me the big M question is not exactly an everyday happening in my little existence. In fact, it's closer to being a never-yday happening, and therefore worthy of a good blush.
Really?

How strange... Me, personally,I hate it if people propose. Not that it happens often but,in my experience,it will if you aren't on your guard. And isn't it always surprising when it does? |
