I can cook. I can actually cook pretty decently. I don't enjoy cooking for myself a whole lot, however, so when I'm on my own I tend to keep the cooking thing to a minimum. A bare minimum.
I like eating. I like eating a lot. But when I get going in my day, I sometimes forget to eat. Depending on the day, it can happen easily. Every once in a while I'll also forget to pick up groceries, so that if I remember to eat there's not much to choose from.
Had a long day today, kind of a strange day. Did a lot, didn't have much to show for it. Didn't eat much apart from one or two things in the morning.
This evening around 10: realized I was hungry. Real hungry, not having eaten since this morning. Went into the kitchen, discovered picking up some groceries earlier in the day would have been an excellent idea. While the cupboards weren't exactly bare, the options were excessively minimal.
Ate a bowl of cereal -- Weetabix mixed with Fruit 'n' Fibre. Tossed in a strawberry or two. Afterward, still hungry.
Had another bowl. Still hungry.
Couldn't face a third mound of wheat. Opened the refrigerator, hoping there'd be more there than the last time I looked. There wasn't.
Opened the freezer, found the remnants of a bag of frozen peas and carrots. Heated them up, ate them. Found a can of beer in the refrigerator, washed the vegetable matter down with that.
Cereal, strawberries, peas/carrots, beer. Four food groups.
Note to self: tomorrow -- must go shopping. Or must go out to eat. One or the other.
