Monday, November 25, 2002 Just stumbled across a quirky, specialized blog -- GoogObits -- which describes itself as "Obituaries and essays augmented by Google searches." That may not sound compelling, but yesterday's entry turned out to be worth the time it took to read it. It begins: "Lynda Van Devanter, whose pained account of her life as an Army nurse in Vietnam focused attention on the burdens of American servicewomen in the war, died on Nov. 15 at her home in Herndon, Va. She was 55." Again, that may not sound wildly interesting, but it's only the intro -- the intro to a brief description of an unusual life. Not your usual blog. rws 11:08 AM [+]
